Admissions Information

Our Lady’s is a Catholic Primary School under the trusteeship of the Diocese of Shrewsbury. It is maintained by Warrington Local Authority. As a Voluntary Aided School, the Governing Body is the Admissions Authority and is responsible for taking decisions on applications for admissions. The co-ordination of admissions arrangements is undertaken by the Local Authority. For the school’s year commencing September 2024, the Governing Body has set its admissions number at 30.

The Catholic Faith and the Teachings of the Roman Catholic Church have an essential role in school life and influence every aspect of the Curriculum. We ask all parents applying for a place here to respect this ethos and its importance to the school community. This does not affect the right of parents who are not of the Faith of this school to apply for and be considered for a place here.  ADMISSIONS TO THE SCHOOL will be made by the Governing Body. All preferences listed on the Local Authority Preference Form will be considered on an equal basis with the ADMISSIONS CRITERIA as set out in our admissions policy.

In Year Transfers

An application can be made for a place for a child at any time outside the admission round and the child will be admitted where there are available places.  An application should be made to the school by completing the in-year admissions application form and returning it to Warrington Borough Council, School Admissions, 1 Time Square, Warrington, WA1 2NT.

Where there are places available but more applications than places, the published oversubscription criteria, as set out in the admission arrangements for 2024/2025 will be applied.  Parents are advised to read the admission arrangements before making their application.

If there are no places available, the child will be added to the waiting list.  Please see the admission arrangments for more details.

You will be advised of the outcome of your application in writing as soon as possible.  Applicants must be informed of the outcome of their application within 15 school days of receipt, but the aim is to notify applicants of the outcome of their application within 10 school days of receipt.

You have the right to appeal to an independent appeal panel if your application is unsuccessful.

If you have any questions in relation to in-year admissions please contact the school office on 01925 633270.  You may also wish to discuss in-year applications with the local authority on 01925 446226.
